At some point in time, we all tried to live an active lifestyle by keeping ourselves healthy and fit. Although most of us are health- conscious, but we never really get spare time to go to the gym.

The truth is, none of us really want to adopt unhealthy lifestyle and be sedentary all day.

If you have a virtual team of professionals, assistants, and business managers then you can delegate some work and apt to get an hour of exercise, cycling, or a brisk walk to have a fit and healthy body.

If you are not lucky enough, then it is difficult to get out and stay active during the working hours. For such employees, it is essential to get creative and seek ways to keep moving even if you are desk-bound.

We all know that being seated for a longer period of hours can have a negative effect on our health.

So HowMuch.pk gathered few easy yet effective ways to incorporate fitness and health into your daily work routine.

1: Take a Break More Often

Take few minutes off every hour of the day. Stand up, stretch, bend over and get the blood flowing.

If possible, communicate with your colleagues by walking down to them instead of using web messaging service - what a great excuse for a short walk!

According to a Harvard research, barely standing up and stretching is proved to be more effective and healthy than a treadmill walk.

The research reveals that the risk of cardiovascular diseases is greatly prevented by frequently standing up throughout the day.

2: Stay Hydrated

It is important to keep your body and mind hydrated because the connection between a healthy body and mind is undeniable.

You should make sure to drink daily 3 liters of water, especially through the day time.

During the office time, it is critical that your body remains energized and hydrated as your mind will remain more attentive and help you keep your routine work more efficient.

Moreover, research suggests that it also keeps your mood stable, mind sharp and promotes cardiovascular health and fitness.

3: Watch Your Calories

Lunch break is where you have an influx of excessive calories. More often than not, we all end up consuming more food than we need.

Furthermore, talking over the meal distracts you to keep a track of how much you are eating. And since, desk-bound employees don’t move around frequently thus most of them end up with a big fat belly.

So, ditch the restaurant's meals and bring your own homemade healthy nutrients rich meals with you to the office.

This way, you can avoid risking restaurants or office catered high-calories meals and develop a healthy eating habit.

Luckily, you have plenty of easy, quick and inexpensive healthy snacks options, i.e almonds, low-fat popcorn, fresh fruits, dried fruits, dry cereals, boiled egg, yogurt, and vegetables such as carrots.

All these snacks are light on the stomach and have rich proteins to keep you energetic and fit.

An elevator is an easy way to keep your sluggish body in its current state. It is important that you ditch elevators and incorporate stairs into your daily routine.
